A Chinese Chanab (offering box), late 19th century, Made in China for the Straits, of rectangular form, with gilt carved openwork figural panels, enclosing a carved giltwood interior, beneath five red lacquered trays (used for offerings of crystallised papaya to the gods), height 29cm, width 43cm, depth 14cm.
