A collection of medals relating to Norman Pimblett to include: World War II medals including 1939-45 Star, Burma Star with Pacific clasp, France and Germany Star, Defence medal, Victory medal as well as a Service Medal of the Order of St John with four gilt bars (denoting 35 years service) and an OBE
The collection also comes with a matching miniature set, which includes a St Johns star which isn't present in the full size set, a photo of Norman outside Buckingham Palace with his OBE, the box for the OBE, printouts of the gazetting of his OBE award as well as a boxed WVS service medal and badge.
Norman served with the Royal Navy as a sick berth attendant in GB and aboard LST 423 in the English Channel during the Normandy Landings (06/1944 - 08/1944), and served aboard the HMS Arbiter in the Pacific (1945)
He is noted in the 1988/89 New Years Honours for his services to St. John Ambulance Brigade, Merseyside when he was awarded an OBE, he was also noted and awarded rank of Commander (brother).
