Eminent Solina String Ensemble Mk1.
This is the rare MK1 model from 1974 which was only made during that year and is the most smooth and silky of the entire Solina series. There is no separate chorus button as the chorus is always on. Tonally the best of the series - it uses an early TDA 0470 chip.

It is extremely heavy, having more discrete circuitry (and a heavy steel supporting chassis). It sounds wonderful, perfect for Bowie's Berlin period ambience - an instantly recognisable sound that you've heard on countless records.

It's a little battered - one end cheek is missing a chunk.
While it's not had a recent service, it is working very well with no issues we can detect, but these are old and delicate instruments. If it sells outside the UK and/or is shipped via a regular courier rather than personal collection or van delivery, we cannot take responsibility for it arriving functioning as it does now.

More Information

Has some scuffs and wear plus a piece missing from the left hand end cheek - see photos.
