A musical automaton in the form of a Swiss Alpine scene with key wind operation moving two cable cars, figures windmill and balloon cloud in a 19th Century glass dome and oval rosewood base, height 65cm
As stated the dome and base are 19th Century but the internal working s are later, some elements work including the water wheel, windmill, figures skating on a bridge,cloud and balloon work.Plays a tune.
The late vendor was a mechanical music enthusiast and restorer and in this case made the internal work, some or possibly all, the case seems to the period.
