A GROUP OF STRAITS CHINESE NYONYA BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ITEMS, 19TH CENTURY. Twenty one in total to include bowl and cover, seven bowls, two cups, six dishes and four saucers, decorated with sweet pea motif. With marks to bases. Largest bowl 14cm. (21)
Provenance: From the estate of a prominent Peranakan family, Khoo Sian Ewe (1886 - 1964), thence by descent.
One bowl with two hairlines, one 3 cm long, the other leads away from the rim splitting into two further hairlines each approx. 6 cm long. Three other bowls have hairlines approx. 4 cm long - one of which also has a small chip.
One dish has a chip to the rim and three have hairlines: 1.5 cm, 2 cm and 2.5 cm long.
Two small saucers have 2 cm hairlines, one has a chip to the rim.
Minor rim frits to note. No repairs or restoration.
