WW2 Rare British Home Front Steel Helmet for the Peak District Ambulance Service. Insignia to the front of the helmet is a mixture of hand painted Red Cross, "A" for Ambulance, red PDAS, green letter "S" along with a decal for the wording "Ambulance Service". The helmet is covered with it's original camo netting cover. To the inside is a panel painted in grey with the owners initials "FS" painted in black. The chinstrap has two period repairs done in canvas cloth. This helmet is new to the market never having been in a collection before. It is being sold by the family of the original owner. Also included is an original photo of the owner, Mr Fred Stansfield and two showing the unit's ambulances.
