Oil on original canvas which is now a litte saggy, paint rather dirty with a discoloured varnish throughout along with a fine but stable craquelure through most of the paint, apparently unsigned, housed in the original frame with the sitters named to the front along with an Exhibition number 268, original frame now rather tatty, three old patched repairs showing from the reverse, one just to the right of the central child's head showing as a white spot in the retouching, the other through the hair of the child on the right showing as white scuffing and a further flaw which does not show from the front near 3o'clock.
