.600, 39 inch, blued barrel. Now smoothbore. Front stud sight. Rear ladder sight. Blued steel lock plate with line edge engraving. Marked "1856 Tower". The tang marked with crowned VR. Military pattern percussion hammer. Polished full stock woodwork. The butt with maker's stamp. Brass butt plate, trigger guard and end cap. 3 steel barrel bands, all retained by steel locking bar springs. Steel ramrod.
