HMS 'Pactolus' A brass deck watch case, the circular brass case dated '1896' and inscribed 'HMS 'Pactolus' to bezel with locking plates and padlock to right hand side, the padlock stamped with crown and 'VR' cipher, enclosing a silver open face pocket watch, maker Kendall & Dent London, diameter of case 12cm. *Notes - HMS Pactolus was one of eleven Perolus-class protected cruisers of the Royal Navy designed by Sir William White used mainly for overseas policing and never serving with the main fleet, she was scrapped in 1921.
