THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO - ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES (VK-10427 - NEVER COMMERCIALLY RELEASED PICTURE SLEEVE). A holy grail moment for collectors' world wide with the never commercially released picture sleeve from The Velvet Underground And Nico - All Tomorrow's Parties (VK-10427, promo). The sleeve is in lovely Ex condition with very light edgewear and extremely faint ringwear on both sides of the cover. Without any rips, tears or seam splits. All Tomorrows Parties was released as a promo single in 1966 and the sleeve was never released commercially. In 2024, Discogs reported a sale of $30,000 for one of these records, a likely competitor for the most expensive single ever sold. 'The picture sleeve is known as one of the rarest picture sleeve ever printed and could be considered as the Holy Grail for the Velvet Underground collector. It was reviewed by Andy Davis in Record Collector's Diggin' For Gold section: "the sleeve to All Tomorrow's Parties was never issued commercially, and was only ever intended for promotional purposes. Legend has it that this cover was never packaged with actual vinyl copies; certainly, it has only ever surfaced as a paper artefact and then in only single figure quantities. It's this extreme rarity coupled with the immortal, unlit power of the Velvets, which has conspired to produce a non-vinyl collectable of such magnitude." - Olivier Landemaine As per release, there is no record with this lot.
