A RARE CARVED FATIMID WITE MARBLE FOUNTAIN BASE, 10TH - 12TH CENTURY

A carved Fatimid white marble fountain base originates from the 10th to 12th century. It features an octagonal design, with intricate depictions of typical Fatimid animal motifs adorning the border. The central section showcases a sunburst pattern radiating from a circular aperture.




Provenance: Private UK collection since 1970s.
