RAF Scramble Bell. A bronze bell mounted on an iroko hardwood stand. With a brass plaque attached which reads: 490 SQUADRON. SUB HUNTERS. RNZAF JUI. 1943-45. No. 490 Squadron Royal New Zealand Air Force was stationed at Jui near Freetown, Sierra Leone from 1943 until it was disbanded in 1945. The bell is 19.5cms high with the stand being 65cms high.
