A mahogany Georgian bracket clock the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement striking the hours on a bell with the seven-inch round painted convex dial having black Roman numerals and decorative blued-steel hands, the dome-topped mahogany case with boxwood stringing to the front, brass fishscale frets to the sides and surmounted by a brass carrying handle, all standing on brass ball feet, height 41cm not including handle. An Edwardian mantel clock retailed by F. E. Bowden & Sons, Plymouth having an eight-day duration timepiece movement with a platform lever escapement, the four-inch round silvered dial engraved with the retailers name and having black Roman numerals and blued-steel spade hands, the curved-topped mahogany case with fluted canted corners and stringing to the front, height 23cm.
