λ A fine large carved Chinese Canton ivory cockade export fan, early 19th century, carved and pierced recto only with scenes of daily Chinese life with a myriad of figures, scholars, pavilions, pagodas, boats, bridges, insects, fish and marine creatures, there is a central oval cartouche with the monogram 'B' of the original owner, the handles are well carved with further animals, figures and Chinese dragons, circa 1800, diameter 37cm, the guardsticks 38cm
