1854 Pattern Infantry officer’s sword, Indian Army issue, blade 40% ornately etched including QV crown and cypher to both sides, ricasso marked E. Thurkle/maker/London, other side marked arrow over ISD and arrow over I, back of blade marked London Made, front of blade marked Thurkle, guard with QV crown and cypher, inside of guard marked 10/92, wire and fishskin grip, sword good very fine, scabbard with 80% light rust, with broken leather strap. Sword is being sold by the family and attributed to Captain David Griffiths, 1851-1932, who spent his entire army career in India from approx 1871 onwards. BUYER MUST COLLECT.
