A rare late 1950's Japanese Yonezawa Tinplate Atom Jet Racer. A streamlined science-fiction style space ship/jet powered vehicle, very much from the Jetsons period of how future vehicles would perhaps look. Fitted with a friction motor (still in working order), the main body in a light green with a varnished style look, boldly detailed with 'atom jet' and 'a-58 v', with various other litho detailing like rivets, grab handles, red lining etc. Enclosed cockpit with driver, bold aggressive plated grille to nose, with front mounted red lights and 3 red 'jets' to rear. Wheels with plated 'ATOM' hubcaps, fitted with large black rubber tyres.
The body itself is in VGC for age, but, there's some light rusting to bright work, one hubcap is missing and 2 tyres do require replacements. If these parts could be restored/replicated or replaced this would be a very impressive piece. Length 670mm. £1000-1500
