A large Victorian ebonised chiming bracket clock the eight-day duration, triple-fusee movement having an anchor escapement and striking the hours on a gong and the quarters on a nest of ten bells, the backplate fully engraved with foliate decoration, the eight-inch brass break-arch dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, matted dial centre and blued steel hands, the arch with two subsidiary dials for Chime/Silent and Cambridge Chimes/Chime on Eight Bells,the ebonised case with gilt-brass inset foliate friezes, finials to the four corners, side frets and a full repousse basket to the caddy top, surmounted by a cast-brass handle, height 50cm/58cm handle down/up.
