Romano-British Dragonesque Brooch. Circa, 50 AD. Copper-alloy, 11.35 grams. 47.28 mm. A very good example of the Celtic inspired zoomorphic brooches. Formed of an S-shaped body with a stylised animal head at each end and decorated with enamelled panels across the body. Ref: Catherine Johns, The Jewellery of Roman Britain.
