There is a small loss to the paint surface in the top left corner, with the canvas visible below, and the damage to the canvas visible from behind. There is a white dot of paint on the surface 2/3 of the way up the canvas on the left hand side, which does not appear to be part of the composition. The appears to be an area of over-painting to the central sky and to the clouds on the right hand side, but there is no evidence of damage to the canvas behind either area. Evidence of historic woodworm damage to the top stretcher.
