Carried by Mail Steamer 'Athens', with 'PAID / DEVONPORT / CAPE PACKET' cds in black, and COGH cds (22 Jul) in red and Stroud receiving mark (29 Aug) on reverse, with part flap. Accompanied by 1855 (27 Apr) 1d red cover also addressed to Charles Marling in Stroud, unrelated 1860 GB to Galatz (Romania) wrapper addressed to the Director of the Ottoman Bank bearing 1855-57 1/- FU, and KGV GB Railway cover (faults) to Sir Ronald Ian Campbell at the British Embassy in Washington.
