AFTER ALBERT CARRIER BELLEUSE (1824-1887) - BRONZE & IVORY FIGURE 'LISEUSE'. A large bronze figure titled 'Liseuse', cast as a lady reading a book and with a carved ivory face and hands. On a circular stepped base, and signed to the base 'A Carrier Belleuse', and with a plaque to the side of the base 'Liseuse'. 40.5cms high Ivory Submission Reference: 3WEDX1A7 CITES permit is included. Exporting outside the EU will require an additional export permit.

More Information

The ivory face has some surface cracks which have appeared over time (two running down from the nose and smaller ones on the cheek), fingers - one has a small black mark, one dent to the side of the base.
