ARCADIAN CRESTED/HERALDIC PORCELAIN PILLAR BOX MODELS - GREAT BRITAIN: A remarkable collection of attractive items each decorated with the armorial crest of a town or city (England (74), Scotland (10), or Wales (7)), mostly on top, with rim and some details picked out in gilt and whimsical message "if you haven't time to post a line here's the pillar box" added on one side. Majority 5.3cm tall (85) bearing KGV cypher but a few 6.7cm tall (5) bearing KEVII cypher. Arcadian were the largest manufacturer of British crested china in the first half of the 20thC. Lot inc. examples of pillar boxes with clinging black cat (6). two with hairline cracks but rest in excellent condition. EXTREMELY FRAGILE SO COLLECTION RECOMMENDED. (91)
