An early 19c rosewood cistern barometer, the register plates signed A. Alexander, 6 High Street, Exeter, Optician. The case is bow fronted and has an urn shaped cistern cover. The register plates are angled and have a vernier operated by a knob below the plates. The plates have a curved glass cover. The body contains a mercury thermometer with register plate graduated for both Fahrenheit and Reaumur scales. This also has a curved glass. The barometer is 100cm tall overall.

The case is in excellent condition and both thermometer and barometer register plates and covering glasses are in good condition. The tube seems operational.
