A Georgian naval dirk, slender curved SE blade 9”, DE at tip, with traces of blueing and gilding at forte, copper hilt, the crossguard with bud finials and double crescent langets (from Portsmouth Arms), solid pistol grip with 4 bands of 7 lines, in its engraved copper sheath with maker’s name “Read, Sword Cutler, Portsmouth” in oval, GC for age (some wear overall, light pitting to blade). £400-500
