Edward VII - (1841-1910) King of the United Kingdom 1901-10 - an early handwritten letter Prince Albert's Private Secretary Charles Phipps. The letter reads:
Buckingham Palace 19th May 1854
My dear Charlie,
I am very glad you have got your long wished holiday
at last, and I hope you will all enjoy it very much.
Hoping to see you soon again
I am
yours very truly

The 'Burnside' mentioned in the postscript relates to the vendor's grandfather, Robert Burnside who founded Lambrook School in Berkshire, 1860 and was the first headmaster there. Two of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's grandsons, Prince Christian Victor and Prince Albert of Schleswig-Holstein, attended the school.
