A South Eastern & Chatham Railway worksplate, CONSTRUCTED AT ASHFORD S E & C R, from a SECR J Class 0-6-4T No 614 built at Ashford in December 1913, renumbered A599 by the SR in April 1928, becoming BR 31599. Allocated to Ashford by January 1948, it was withdrawn from there in the week ending 29 October 1949 and cut up at the nearby Works. Cast brass, 11¼"x6", in ex loco condition, the back marked with the engine number. (Postage Band: B)
