Property of a gentleman - a pair of late Victorian polychrome decorated satinwood concave fronted architectural alcove or niche bookcases, each comprising a horizontally & vertically bowed fan shaped light panel with lead tracery, two concave shaped doors, and a base with rounded back, the fan shaped light panels 25ins. (63,5cms.) high, the doors each 70.85 by 25.2ins. (180 by 64cms.), the bases 33.1ins. (84cms.) high, 51.95ins. (132cms.) across at base (8 parts in lot). Footnote - a single related cabinet was sold at Christie's, New York, 9th January 2013, property of The Cleveland Museum of Art, lot 433 (USD 3,500 hammer price).
