(part address bleached out & town name inside cut out) from "Jean Braux" in "Dartmoor [Prison] a Angleterre" seeking news of his family after months of silence (since April 1812?) while he has been a prisoner. having been taken on board the American ship 'La Comete'; charged "8[decimes]" and having a mainly very fine small handstruck "Exd JM" censor mark of Dartmoor Prison's John Moore (only recorded 1813-15).
