Boer War / WW1 King's Royal Rifle Corps Defence of Ladysmith Group of Three Medals. Awarded to William Frances Murtagh a defender of Ladysmith with the K.R.R.C and volunteered for service with the Royal Engineers during the Great War.
Comprising: Queen's South Africa Medal, four clasps TALANA, DEFENCE OF LADYSMITH, TRANSVAAL, LAINGS NEK, 1157 PTE W F MURTAGH KRRC, British War Medal, Victory Medal 442454 SPR RE. Group mounted as originally worn. William Frances Murtagh came from Wilmslow in Cheshire and his Boer War Medal entitlement is confirmed. During WW1 he volunteered for service with the Royal Engineers landing in France on the 5th May 1917.
