1st Bn Essex Regiment WW1 1916 Casualty Group of Three Medals & Memorial Plaque. Awarded to 12419 George Henry Gigg who was Killed in Action on the 12th October 1916. Comprising: 1914/15 Star, PTE ESSEX R, British War Medal, Victory Medal, PTE ESSEX R, Bronze Memorial Plaque GEORGE HENRY GIGG. Private George Henry Gigg a native of Bishops Stortford and enlisted at Warley Essex. He landed at Gallipoli with the 1st Bn on the 31st July 1915. Surviving the campaign he transferred to the Western Front and was Killed in Action on the 12th October 1916
