A First World War Military Cross group of four to the Royal Field Artillery, consisting of: Military Cross GVR, un-named as issued; 1914/15 Star named to: 2 Lt D R Mackenzie RFA; British War Medal and Victory Medals named to: Capt D R Mackenzie, the Victory Medal with MID oakleaves.
Donald Ross Mackenzie was born in 1892 in Newington (Edinburgh). He was commissioned from the Edinburgh University Officers’ Training Corps as 2nd Lieut RFA (Special Reserve) on probation with seniority from 05/08/1914 and promoted to Lieutenant with seniority from 09/06/1915.

Post war he completed his studies for his law degree and subsequently practiced law in Edinburgh He married Edith A Murdoch Anderson in 1922, at Gorgie Dalry Church, Edinburgh.

The medals have been lacquered and mounted court style for wear by the recipient, with contemporary silk watered ribbons. Otherwise, Extremely Fine (EF) condition.
