1805 Valentine lettersheet depicting cupid delivering a letter to a seated lady, doves below, within a central oval, well handpainted, with elaborate handcut borders incorporating hearts, a handwritten verse inside, posted from Kingston on Thames to "Mrs Knowles, Leominster Hill, Arundel, Sussex" with "KINGSTON-T / 12" mileage mark. A few minor splits to the borders at the folds, otherwise fine, a superb early postally used valentine. Photo on Page 66.
