1824-36 INTER-ISLAND GROUP - INC. THE EARLIEST KNOWN IONIAN REGISTERED LETTER - 29 May 1831 registered EL (worn central crease clear of marks & some wear from damp) from S. Maura to Corfu endorsed "Raccomandazione/[P. Isola Lixouri?]" in (faded) red with mainly v. fine rare black oval-framed S. Maura "FRANCA" and partly fine matching fancy oval "Sta MAURA" d.s. on the front. Also 1824 EL from Paxo to Corfu, 1827 EL from S.
