1915 Star Trio to Capt S B Kay Yorks R. Housed in superb fitted display folder with 'Captain S B Kay 7th Battn Yorkshire Regt 1914 - 1918' in gold lettering. Later serving with the RFC as an instructor. Born Headingley, Leeds, 1891. He trained as a mining engineer. Kay was twice Wounded, the first time was at Dickebusch 14/2/1916. His 2nd Wound (GSW) was 5/11/1916 at Le Transloy. Both events noted in the War Diaries. Due to these Wounds rendering him unfit for frontline service he became a Recruiting officer at Lewisham Town Hall. Later being attached to the RFC. Stanley Burnett Kay died 28/1/1918 having "accidentally shot himself with a revolver causing laceration of the brain". Buried Leeds (Lawn Wood) Cemetery. With related artical. (3)
