A Geo V 1897 pattern infantry officer’s sword, straight fullered blade, 32½”, marked “Sanderson Bros & Newbould Ld Sheffield” at forte on one side with inspector’s stamps on the other, etched in fullers on both sides with crowned GVR cypher in wreath, pronounced, pierced, plated guard incorporating crowned GVR cypher, plain pommel, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. GC (no scabbard).
