Private George Washington was born in 1899 and in 1915 he was working as a weaver. Volunteering underage at only 16 years old he joined the Monmouthshire Regiment on the 2nd October 1915. He would also serve with the Herefordshire Regiment and the South Wales Borders. On the 30th May 1918 he was taken Prisoner by the Germans. ... Private George Edwards was born in Trealaw Glamorgan and enlisted into the 20th (3rd Rhonndda) Bn of the Welsh Regiment. He landed in France on the 16th March 1916. He was taken POW by the Germans on the 30th May 1918.
