AN IRISH MID-18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY ‘BACHELOR’S CHEST’, circa 1745, with fold over top that opens to reveal a flat wooden surface, perfect to be used for either folding clothes – or writing. The top also opens upwards to reveal a ‘secret’ compartment behind a faux first drawer front. Beneath the faux drawer are a run of three graduated drawers, each with polished a pair of polished brass swing handles with pierced brass plates. All raised on shaped low rise feet. A very fine piece of antique furniture, neatly sized perfect for any location in any style of home. Dimensions: 87cm wide x 77cm tall x 45cm deep.
