A silver cigarette box with presentation inscription to American actor and manager James Keteltas Hackett (September 6, 1869 – November 8, 1926) dated September 6th 1914. The top inscribed with numerous signatures including Bernard Thornton, Loretta Healy Howson and Albert Howson etc. and with quote ‘If I Do Vow A Friendship I’ll Perform I’ll Perform It To The Last Article’. Hackett starred in numerous films of the early 20th century including ‘The Prisoner of Zenda’ and ‘The Walls of Jericho’. Box with wooden, compartmented interior, made by A & J Zimmerman, hallmarked Birmingham, 1909. 17cm long.
