Born 1900, John Tunnard was a painter and designer. He studied design at the Royal College of Art going on to work in various textile design jobs. He later took up painting and taught design at the Central School of Arts and Crafts London. In 1931 he exhibited at the Royal Academy. This print was from The School Prints Series originally with the intention of bringing contemporary art to young children.
