IOLA SPAFFORD (BRITISH 1930) OIL ON BOARD, WHITE LILLIES, SIGNED BOTTOM RIGHT - 52 X 40CM
Artist in various media, born in Cambridge, married to the painter George Spafford. She studied at Bristol Art School, 1947, Nottingham School of Art, 1948–50, and Slade School of Fine Art, 1950–4, winning a Travelling Scholarship to Italy. She was a member of MAFA and RCamA and showed at RA, Tegfryn Gallery at Menai Bridge, Pitcairn Gallery in Knutsford and elsewhere. Salford Art Gallery and Manchester City Art Gallery’s Rutherston Collection hold examples. Lived in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
