A George V 1897 pattern Indian Army Infantry officer’s levee sword, the slender Victorian blade 32” by Henry Wilkinson, numbered 24787 (1882), etched with panels of scrolled foliage, crowned “VR” cypher, crown over vacant shield and strung bugle, and near the forte “T. Riley from HA”, with regulation pattern steel hilt bearing crowned “GRI” cypher, in its leather covered FS scabbard. Generally GC (dark patina to hilt and blade, scabbard leather split and worn. Presumably a re-hilted family blade. £
