WWI : An early 20thC Royal Artillery Officer's dress sword , the 34 1/2'' single - fullered steel blade with profuse decoration , incorporating the George V cipher , Royal coat of arms and the Royal Artillery emblem , bordered by stylised roses , shamrock and thistles within sectional acanthus scrollwork . The reverse with further decoration and inset brass proof mark . 6'' pipeback handle having a wire wrapped shagreen grip and chequered steel back with plain guard , terminating in a steel pommel . 41'' overall
