A set of six extremely large very rare novelty colonial silver wine labels in the form of fruit bats, good quality heavy cast, unmarked, c.1880, probably Chinese, each bat with out-stretched wings, finely detailed to resemble fur, applied with letters for BRANDY; LISBON; HOCK; PORT; SHERRY; CLARET, 4 3/8in. (11.2cm.) wingspans, each with hanging chain, weight 14.7 tr.oz. (6) * The bat is a symbol of longevity and happiness in Chinese iconography. * Condition: All bats very good, light wear only, nothing to note.
