A cabriolet fan, early 20th century, the bone monture carved with different designs across the split gorge, the rivet fitted with a turquoise stone, the silk leaf panels painted with two romantic scenes of a couple in 18th century dress, and to the side one further lady seemingly in distress, each panel embroidered with gold and turquoise sequins, guard approx. 22 cm; together with a bone fan of a similar period, with elaborate carving and gilding to the monture, the silk leaf painted with a lady approaching a swan and a cygnet at the side of a lake, backed in a cream gauze, guard approx. 24.5 cm; and a third fan of the period, bone monture, cream silk painted in white and grey with a courting couple and a maid approaching with refreshments, guard approx. 21.5cm (3)
All three fans have slight issues, the cabriolet with a few areas of previous restoration to the folds, noted from the verso. Fan 3 has some foxing to the sides and end folds are lifting. Fan 3 has some very light foxing.
