DAVID BOWIE - DAVID BOWIE LP (ORIGINAL PHILIPS UK WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING WITH PROVENANCE). It's holy grail time for Bowie collectors with this original UK white label test pressing of David Bowie's self-titled LP from 1969 that would later become Space Oddity (commercially released as Philips SBL 7912). The matrix (852146 1Y1/852146 2Y1) is interestingly different on this test pressing as the matrix used on the stock release (which used 1Y//2 & 2Y//2) with this therefore the very first mix of the album. The record is in VG condition with scuffs/ surface marks on both sides of the vinyl, including a feelable hairline mark on A2. The white centre labels are clean with writing in pen on both sides. This record was gifted to Mary Finnegan (a friend of David Bowie) by Tony Visconti in the Autumn of 1969. This lot is complete with a handwritten letter of authenticity by Mary Finnegan in 1993.
