A worksplate, LNER, 61938, 1934, from a LNER K3 Class 2-6-0 No 2940 built by Robert Stephenson & Co, Works No 4084, and which entered traffic in January 1935. Renumbered 1938 in 1946, it became BR 61938. Allocated to New England by January 1948 and later March and Darnall from where it was withdrawn on 29 December 1961 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: B)
