A Chinese 18th century doucai 'duck and lotus' marriage bowl, finely painted in polychrome enamels with a continuous scene of Mandarin ducks amongst lotus and other aquatic foliage under a band of underglaze blue five-clawed dragons, with lanca characters around the inside of the rim with a duck and lotus pond roundel in the centre of the bowl, the base with six-character Chenghua mark but probably Yongzheng period (1723-35) Qing dynasty, 16 cm diameter x 7.5 cm high
The bowl has two 1 cm rim chips, with a vertical hairline extending from it down towards the centre of the bowl approx 6.5 cm long, another slightly smaller hairline also running down from the rim, and a few other small chips/nibbles around the rim, some superficial surface wear, scratches to the interior, some wear to enamels
