Wellesley, Arthur, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852), a framed and glazed autographed letter, dated December 3rd 1819, written to an unnamed peer, discussing military staffing matters, 1 1/2 pages: "Mr dear Lord, I'll return for the letter which you mentioned but as soon as I shall have spoken with the Duke of York upon the subject. If the confusion of the 6th Regiment is ever to [be ended] there is one certain remedy & that is to take over. But they have a good and strict Commanding Officer who will make the Officers attend to the Non-commission offers and soldiers, and see that all perform their duties... I will suggest some measures to the Duke of York which will soon set all right.'
