Charles I (1625-1649) Crown, Tower mint under Parliament, group V, type 5, mintmark sun (1645-46). The King on horseback left with sword upright, beaded circles and legend surrounding both sides. Rev, garnished quartered oval shield of arms, 29.74gm (S. 2762; N. 2199). Very Fine or better and richly toned. Acquired from Baldwin’s 15 May 1944 for £10/10/-. Ex. Lincoln Col. (his ticket) dispersed 14 July 1887.
