An RAF WW2 long service group consisting of the 1939/45 Star, The Burma Star, the War Medal 1939/45 and the RAF Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, EIIR second type, this named to L1339647 Cpl E J Wilson RAF.
Cpl Wilson enlisted in the RAF c November 1940 and appears to have been employed as an RAF photographic interpreter during the Burma campaign of 1944-
45 and as such would have been responsible for selecting and assessing targets for RAF operational strikes against the Japanese forces. The medals are in Good Very Fine (GVF) condition and mounted as worn by the
original recipient. The LS&GC Medal is dark toned.
Together with a photograph of the recipient in RAF uniform and two original RAF aerial reconnaissance photographs of sections of the Burmese jungle, one dated 1
Dec 44 and marked ‘track’ and the other dated 2 Dec 44 and marked ‘unknown village’.
